What it takes.

Be Loved

Find your Source

Loving others can be seen as giving of oneself to others.

One can only give what one has been given.

We all have a limited capacity.

When using a finite source one runs the risk of their source running out.

Instead ask the Creator of the universe (an infinite source), your creator, to allow you to share His love with others.

Psalms tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made,

Learn what love is

Love is patient, love is kind.

Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Live it

Live what you know.

Teach others to love through your living example.

Love isn't perfection, if you make a mistake, recognize it (apologize if appropriate), accept love from your source and start loving again.

The need for love isn't new, multiple generations have tried to create a love movement including the hippie movement of the 1960's, and the 1990's rave scene. People are searching for real love.

Rave culture created one of the best expressions of love with it's acronym PLUR, which stands for Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect.

Even earlier, Jesus invited us to share in a community where we are called to follow these principles. Said in many different ways but nicely summarized:

John 13: 34-35

"I give you a new commandment. Love each other just as much as I have loved you. For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another everybody will know that you're my true followers"
